“The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon.”
— Brandon Sanderson

About Us

Franco Machado-Pesce, Co-founder of From Eye to Ink

From Eye to Ink was an idea that popped into Franco Machado-Pesce's head whilst writing a screenplay during a college course. It started from a love for photography & writing, and manifested into an outlet for storytellers of all ages around the world using the photostory. Outside of writing, Franco is a professional actor based in NYC. With a mindset of “opening your own doors,” Franco has acted in several projects that he’s written including a full length play, CITY RATS, that will be opening at the Hudson Guild Theater in 2024. Franco has written four feature films and multiple short films—many of which have received recognition in film festivals all over the world. To pay rent, he works as a Lead Creative at the boutique agency, Migrante Content, where he has had the pleasure of working with other Latinos in the industry to create story-driven ads for Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lavazza, and RAM. His favorite books are: the His Dark Materials trilogy, the Harry Potter saga, and The Neverending Story.

Johnny Guerra, Co-founder of From Eye to Ink.

An Mexican-American writer and storyteller hailing from the San Francisco Peninsula, Johnny was deeply fascinated by writing, cinema, literature, and pop culture. Inspired by Taylor Swift's lyrical prowess, he crafts eloquent compositions. With a BA in Communications from Notre Dame de Namur University, he has contributed to books, written short stories, poems, and screenplays. In 2021, he wrote his directorial debut with the short film The Cherry on Top, bringing the nostalgic charm of the 1950s and the intriguing mystery of the roaring twenties with An Era of Fallen Stars (2021).  With a keen eye for detail, Johnny aims to capture the essence of expressiveness and infuse it into From Eye to Ink.

“Nothing needs to happen to a writer’s life after they are 20. By then they’ve experienced more than enough to last their creative life.”
— Flannery O'Connor
